Suitable applications

This service can include

  • Thicker mild-steel brackets
  • Weathered steel after preparation
  • Difficult-access field repairs
  • Light equipment components that are not load- or safety-critical

How the process is selected

Electrode selection depends on known base metal, thickness and service. Service suitability is confirmed from the component function, base metal, thickness and inspection requirements.

Final acceptance and pricing depend on photos or inspection.

Scope of Our Services

A focused service is a responsible service. Every job is confirmed from photos or an on-site inspection.

Mobile Steel Repair Services

  • Mild/carbon-steel gate, fence and railing repairs
  • Brackets, tabs, frames and small steel fabrication
  • Accessible, non-critical steel trailer repairs
  • Light equipment repairs where the part is not load- or safety-critical
  • Outdoor repairs using self-shielded flux-core or Stick where appropriate
Material first: we confirm the item is mild/carbon steel before accepting the job.

Stick/SMAW Field Application

Where Mobile Stick Welding Fits a Steel Repair

Stick/SMAW is a compact, adaptable field process for selected mild and carbon-steel repairs. It is often considered where steel is thicker, access is restricted or surface exposure makes a wire-feed process less practical.

Thicker, Weathered or Awkward Steel

After loose corrosion, coatings and contamination are removed, Stick welding can suit brackets, frames, supports and selected trailer or light-equipment components. Electrode flux supplies shielding at the arc, so no external gas bottle is required at the joint. The remaining steel must still be sound enough for repair and the component’s function must be understood.

Electrode and Joint Preparation

Electrode classification, diameter, amperage, polarity and welding position are chosen for the base metal and thickness. Joint gaps, bevels, restraint and access influence penetration and pass sequence. Slag is cleaned between passes, and the surrounding area is checked for fire hazards, safe lead routing and a reliable work return before the arc is started.

When Wire-Feed Welding Is Preferable

On clean, well-fitted steel with stable gas coverage, MIG/MAG may be faster and leave less post-weld cleanup. For outdoor production where wire feed remains useful but gas shielding is unreliable, self-shielded flux-core may be considered. The repair requirements decide the process, not convenience alone.
